Willie Nelson will release his first solo album ‘American Classic’ for Blue Note in the US this August.
Posted by archivedriveby under Music News | Tags: blue note records, diana krall, norah jones, willie nelson |Leave a Comment
In 1978 Willie Nelson recorded a landmark collection of American Songbook classics, ‘Stardust,’ that proved to be a breakout success for him, with ‘American Classic’ he’s returning to form. This latest collection features jazz club standards sung by Willie and duets with Diana Krall and labelmate Norah Jones.
Last year Nelson collaborated with Wynton Marsalis on the widely acclaimed New Orleans-flavored album ‘Two Men With the Blues.’ This summer Nelson will be hitting the road in advance of the release date with a string of dates at minor league ballparks with Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp.
From EMI
The track listing for American Classic is as follows:
1. The Nearness Of You
2. Fly Me To The Moon
3. Come Rain Or Shine
4. If I Had You featuring Diana Krall
5. Ain’t Misbehavin’
6. I Miss You So
7. Because Of You
8. Baby It’s Cold Outside featuring Norah Jones
9. Angel Eyes
10. On The Street Where You Live
11. Since I Fell For You
12. Always On My Mind
